This Harvard Business Review article on connections is great for so many reasons, but the most important premise is simple: you need close connections (aka, friends) at work!

Accounting professionals spend a lot of time at work so it makes sense for us to build connections that are supportive and sustainable with colleagues.  Not only does it make our day-to-day more enjoyable but it makes us more collaborative and honest.

If you've ever been the new guy or gal in the office you know how it feels not to have those close contacts. Recognize the impact it has, then take the time to find or foster your lunch-buddy relationships!
